PREVIEW: Ipswich Town v Hull City

Difficult to know where to begin with this fixture. Hull CIty's recent record against Ipswich is exceptional with an eleven match unbeaten run including 8 victories - the last five of which come with a clean sheet. Yet, incredibly, of the Tigers' last 13 encounters against teams in the Championship's bottom three, City have won just once - losing a painful ten of those without scoring in the process. Yeah, exactly.

Manager Nigel Adkins is currently mulling over a new contract offered to him by the club, but with all the Premier League money now evaporated, there will be further cuts to playing personnel, wages and an already limited transfer budget (ha!) - so attractive, eh? However, the international break has seen the recovery of several players including long forgotten James Weir to the fold. Weir joins Jon Toral, Dan Batty and Jordy de-Wijs who all come back into contention, but captain Markus Henriksen serves the last game of his ban.

Ipswich sit 13 points adrift of safety, marooned at the bottom of the table for an inordinate amount of time. Despite Paul Lambert coming in as manager to replace the beleaguered Paul Hirst (remember him?) it seems the die is cast for the Tractor Boys with League One beckoning at a rate of knots. The basement side could welcome back Cole Skuse and James Collins from recent injuries.
