Hull City put up a valiant performance against Premier League chasing Norwich City, but ultimately, came up short in the finishing department as the hosts showed enough quality in the final third of the pitch to win this match - despite a nervous finish to the game.

Five goals 'shared'

The Tigers' first attack saw Bowen fouled - and his freekick strike the angle of post and bar just 5 minutes in. But, on 11 minutes, the visitors were behind when Stieperman dribbled through the defence and fired in. Worse followed three minutes later, when Buendia netted Marshall's parry from close range. Hull City were rocking and struggled to make headway up the field, but in first half stoppage time, some excellent pressure forced keeper Krul into a mistake and Pugh slammed in to half the deficit at the break.

It was a bright start for the visitors, buoyed by their recent goal. Good pressure was applied, but crucially the visitors, failed to trouble Krul further. Yet, a slap in the face on the hour mark for the Tigers saw Bunedia tuck in his second of the evening from a tight angle. The Tigers responded well, Pugh had a strong claim for a penalty turned down, before Martin powered in a close range header on 87 minutes to set up a tense finish. Pugh had a late chance to level, but the hosts held on to return to the top of the table.
