SUMMARY: Reading 3-0 Hull City

If anybody was under any illusions about how low on quality this club is, thanks to yet another shambles of a transfer window orchestrated by the Allams, then here it is in all it's glory. Reading are rubbish, destined for a relegation scrap, but incredibly, Hull City were worse. Far, far, worse. Adkins has been hung out to dry, the players are not being supported and this result will do nothing other that depress the mood at Hull City.

Third time lucky... nope!

The hosts charged out the block and took just 4 minutes to break City's resistance. Yet again, a corner proved the Tigers' undoing as the perennial weakness from set pieces was exposed by Baldock prodding home. The visitors laboured their way through the game, but did force the ball into the net twice from close range - formerly with Campbell, latterly with Kane - but both were rightly offside. Irvine spurned another good chance when blazing over right on half time, but in truth City's attacking was largely ineffective and sporadic.

The misery continued into the second half, as there was zero sign of any improvement from the visitors. The deficit was doubled on 70 minutes when Bodvarsson netted, before Yiadom rolled in 11 minutes later to kill the game. The drama didn't quite end there, O'Shea was sent off in the 83rd minute for the hosts - and City's resultant freekick found the back of the net for the third time that afternoon, only for it to be chalked off again, this time for hand ball.

The Tigers are in terrible trouble.
