SUMMARY: Wigan Athletic 2-1 Hull City

Hull City failed to follow up their first home win of the season with additional points on the road just three day later at Wigan Athletic, duly succumbing to the perennial curse that appears to blight the Tigers every time they visit this deepest, darkest corner of Lancashire.

Losing in Lancashire... again.

Changes forced and experimental were made by City boss Nigel Adkins, but they were to no avail, as the hosts grew into the game quicker and drew first blood. Morsey drilled in the opener for Wigan on 21 minutes, before son of our very own Dean Windass (Josh) doubled the advantage for the Latics on 38 minutes.

Just when you were thinking that was that, Bowen surprised all and sundry inside the DW Stadium scoring his second goal in three days to half the Tigers' deficit at the break. As much as Hull City attempted to get back on terms, it was Wigan who looked the most threatening throughout the second half and the Latics duly held on to claim all the points.
