PREVIEW: Birmingham City v Hull City

It's been an incredible week so far for the Tigers. Coming from 1-3 down at home to Norwich to win 4-3 last Saturday, followed by a fantastic 0-3 thumping of Ipswich on their own turf in midweek, has catapulted City up to 17th in the Championship table and nine points clear of the last place in the relegation zone - ironically held by this weekend's opponents Birmingham City.

Can the Tigers banish the Blues?

Nigel Adkins is slowly but surely getting his message across to the players - and a win here at St Andrews, could almost preserve the Tigers' place in next season's Championship. The visitors will be boosted by being able to call upon star striker Abel Hernandez after he was rested in midweek, along with defender Ondrej Mazuch. As in keeping with Adkins' management, it is likely changes will be made to a winning team, despite the aforementioned resounding midweek success at Portman Road.

Birmingham City have recently changed managers again this season, this time ditching the ill-fated Steve Cotterill for Garry Monk. The Blues are on the slide and have lost 8 straight games in all competitions. If Hull City inflict a ninth defeat this Saturday, it will match an all time club record for club. The hosts are hoping to have midfielder David Davis back for the clash.
