PREVIEW: Hull City v Reading

Respite from the rigours of the league last week, afforded Hull City a much needed morale boosting win for the club - and new manager Nigel Adkins to be fair. The 0-1 away win at a respectable Blackburn Rovers side, who look a decent bet for promotion straight back to the Championship, has provided a platform to rebuild for the Tigers.

Adkins has most definitely improved City, albeit at the premium of reining in our goal tally, but performances have arguably warranted more than the points haul the Tigers currently hold. But, in order to claim a precious win this weekend, Hull City will have to beat a team not beginning with 'B' this season. Seb Larsson and skipper Michael Dawson will both come back into the fold, after being rested for the cup tie last week. Striker Will Keane is on the brink of returning to the team after a year out with knee ligament damage.

Reading scraped a 1-1 draw with Hull City on home turf with a late equaliser in the reverse fixture. The Royals are struggling to match last season's play off final achievements, but manager Jaap Stam remains positive. Liam Moore should be back after a recent knee injury, while Jon Dadi Bodvarsson will be assessed before being considered, following illness. Home boss Nigel Adkins has beat the Royals in his only previous encounter against his old club, when managing Southampton to a 1-0 win in the Premier League.
