SUMMARY: Blackburn Rovers 0-1 Hull City - FA Cup Rd 3

The magic of the FA Cup could well prove to be Hull City’s salvation this season – as long as the opponents pulled out of the hat in Round 4 begin with ‘B’. The Tigers’ quite astonishing habit this season means – including pre-season games too – Hull City have only won this term against a team beginning with 'B' which include Bristol Rovers, Benfica, Burton Albion, Bolton Wanderers, Birmingham City, Barnsley, Brentford and now Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup. That’s un-b-lievable!

Aina on it!

City survived a strong opening against the hosts that saw Caddis crash the bar with a 20 yard effort that beat Marshall all ends up. But the Tigers asserted control and Diomande’s work rate up front was causing notable problems. Toral and Evandro became more effective as the match continued, with all three of the aforementioned having chances to crack open the home defence. Yet, 0-0 it was at the break.

Much more purpose was on show come the second period from Hull City and the visitors got their rewards in the 58th minute. Toral’s corner was met perfectly by Aina and the full back planted his header firmly into the net. Toral saw a second goal for City chalked off for offside shortly after, before the predictable Blackburn onslaught occurred. Ex-Tiger Danny Graham missed the two best chances for the hosts, allowing City to pass into the draw for the FA Cup Fourth Round on Monday night. B-lightful!
