PREVIEW: Blackburn Rovers v Hull City - FA Cup Rd 3

The really big question ahead of this FA Cup Third Round tie is; who hates their owners more? Blackburn Rovers are offering up the silent and stay-away Venkys holed up in India, while Hull City serve up the Allams wanting their fans to die and conjuring up marketing techniques that a primary school pupil could trump, amongst the backdrop of a very lengthy charge sheet that could take over this preview. But this is the FA Cup - and it would be churlish to turn it into a pissing contest. Yet, we all know it will be.

FA Cup 3rd Round

Nigel Adkins loves the FA Cup. Unfortunately, he's not particularly successful in it. Just the one Third Round win back in 2012 with Southampton to be precise. Which is a shame, because his genuine admiration for the tournament is commendable. David Marshall could get the gig between the sticks, while Fraizer Campbell and David Meyler are close to being fully fit and may get some game time. Kamil Grosicki remains sidelined. Probably until he's sold, or the window closes, whichever is sooner. Says the cynic at CI.

Blackburn Rovers meanwhile, are riding high in League One and looking to bounce back into the Championship, currently resting in 3rd place. Manager Tony Mowbray has a decent record at this stage of the FA Cup, only failing once in his last 6 attempts to get into the next round. However, the hosts will have to try and keep that run going without striker Marcus Antonsson, but Joe Nuttall could return.

The two sides have only met once before in the FA Cup. It was back in 1954 and Hull City took the honours after winning the replay at Boothferry Park. So, err, yeah, have that!
