PREVIEW: Hull City v Ipswich Town

Yet more posturing, protests and politics reign over the club and continue to dominate life at Hull City. The football – not for the first time – is taking an unwelcome back seat yet again. It’s apparent, while, the Allams remain in charge at the club, nothing is going to change soon, despite Ehab Allam’s hollow olive branch offer. Evidently, the sooner the Egyptians flee from our club, all the better for everyone concerned.

Desperately seeking a home win...

After the international break, the league football almost wearily returns to the Circle with a workmanlike, taking no prisoners, Ipswich Town side, the visitors to this corner of East Yorkshire. Leonid Slutsky can expect no favours from a Mick McCarthy led side, however shorn of genuine quality the visitors may be.

Instead, the Russian has to deal with striker Fraizer Campbell serving a one match ban and seriously monitor the fitness of David Meyler, Jackson Irvine and Seb Larsson following a mixed bag of results during the World Cup Qualifiers. Midfielder Evandro could make a return to the squad after a lengthy injury lay off.

Ipswich Town arrive in Hull as a decisive side riding high in 8th place without a single draw to their name in the Championship this season. Emur Huws could make his first start of the campaign after an Achilles injury. However, Tommy Smith is unlikely to feature following a late arrival back to base courtesy of his international duties. Tom Adeyemi, Teddy Bishop, Luke Hyam and Andre Dozzell are all ruled out
