PREVIEW: Reading v Hull City

Was the Sunderland match really 'must win'? It felt like it at the time, but if it was, City really laboured to get anything at all out of the match, scoring a belated leveller that will go amongst toe-poke folk lore. Or maybe not... Now though, to one of the Tigers' happier hunting grounds of recent times, when they meet up with a Royal appointment at Reading.

City's form is good here, with four wins from seven and are currently unbeaten home or away against Reading in six meetings. Leonid Slutsky will be desperately seeking to tap into that rich vein of form against the Royals, as the Russian looks to improve results that have seen just one win in seven attempts. To help matters, Ondrej Mazuch will be added to the squad after recovering from a knee injury.

Reading themselves have failed to set the league alight this time around sitting one place below City in the league's nether regions, after last season's penalty shoot-out defeat in the play-off final. Manager Jaap Stam has never overseen two consecutive home defeats for the Royals, but that will be his fate if Hull City can snatch the win. Defender Jordan Obita and midfielder John Swift are fit again after playing in the Caraboa Cup defeat to Swansea in midweek, but Mo Barrow will need to be assessed before being considered.
