SUMMARY: Derby County 5-0 Hull City

The owners have an ever increasing levy of accountability on their table - and short of them selling up and leaving asap - this club is never, ever going to heal. For the second summer transfer window running, City's chickens are coming home to roost, as the silver was sold off, while an eclectic mix of borrowed players, those with worrying injury frailties and those who alarmingly already look passed their sell by date, laboured badly in Derby this Friday night - and were royally thumped as a consequence.

This was taken when the score was respectable - KO

City got off to a bright start, but were undone from a Vydra freekick on 15 minutes after Aina committed a foul on the edge of the box. Aina recovered to win the Tigers a penalty on 26 minutes when Lawrence rugby tackled the full back in the box, but Larsson blazed the penalty high over the bar. That disaster was compounded when City were punished shortly after as Vydra again rifled in on 34 minutes. If that wasn't bad enough, ex-Tiger Davies headed in a corner 3 minutes later. Johnson added a fourth on the cusp of half time. This was a horror show. Shocking.

Unsurprisingly, City enjoyed some possession after the break, once Derby had wrapped up the points. Bowen missed a far post header, but misery was never far away and Johnson scored his second and Derby's fifth on 57 minutes to rub more salt in an already gaping wound. Grosicki fired wide when well placed shortly after, while late in the game Meyler grazed the bar. But this, this was a night to forget in Derby. And we all know who's fault it is, don't we? For goodness sake, just go.
