SUMMARY: Doncaster Rovers 2-0 Hull City - EFL Cup Rd 2

Hull City are out of the Cow-a-bunga Cup, falling at the first hurdle, after securing the tie of the round last time out, with a bye. This time, there was never much hope of progress given our stricken squad and the Allams insistence to sell all our Premier League silver, but a team of kids did the club proud, despite defeat.

Very few of the 2,000 travelling Tigers could name the starting XI let alone which juniors were on a bench, indeed, just 6 starting appearances ever as a collective, covered the entire team. But nonetheless, the youngsters bravely gave it a go, with James Weir in particular having a good game in midfield and going close with two good efforts. Doncaster hit the angle of post and bar before the break as they went close, but a keenly contested encounter remained without a goal.

In truth, the travelling Tigers went to vent their fury at the Allams, as a tirade of chants discrediting the owners, along with numerous anti-Allam banners gave the City fans more than enough to contend with for the entire match, aside from the football. The tie itself (oh yeah, the football) was settled by goals from May (48) and Rowe (54) but Luer went close on a couple of occasions shortly after with a header and a drive wide of the post, in a spirited performance from the fledgling Tigers.
