PREVIEW: Hull City v Sunderland

The pessimist Tiger will be preaching the age old Hull City folklore that it would be 'Typical City' to lose against a team bottom of the league and already relegated at home. They have good reason for saying such given our track record in that particular field, to be fair. The optimistic Tiger will be telling all and sundry that under the 'all new' Marco Silva reign, City are formidable on home turf, unbeaten since the Portuguese arrived, winning six out of seven Premier League matches played under his stewardship.

Unusually - and quite refreshingly in fact - there will be no new injury or suspensions to contend with for the hosts, meaning Silva can pick something close to his strongest XI for the match. Omar Ellabdellaoui returns from a back problem, as does Diemerci Mbokani, after a recent niggle. The real conundrum lies in the formation; will it be two up top, or will it be just the one, for a game Hull City really have to win, to keep the pressure up on their relegation rivals.

Sunderland roll into East Yorkshire a relegated side after last week's point at Southampton gained by Hull City - coupled with the Black Cats' inability to win - consigned the Wearsiders to the Championship. Manager David Moyes says he's the man to take them straight back up according to his pre-game press conference, so all will have to wait and see. However, for this match, Billy Jones, Jason Denayer, Jack Rodwell, Darron Gibson and Lee Cattermole are all fitness doubts, but Seb Larsson returns from a ban.
