PREVIEW: Hull City v Swansea City - FA Cup Rd 3

New Hull City manager Marco Silva has to give way to the cup on two separate occasions before he can get on with his main task of Premier League survival for the Tigers. The 39 year old's first match is at home to fellow top flight strugglers Swansea City in the 3rd Round of the FA Cup, before meeting fellow countryman Jose Mourinho next week at Manchester United in the Semi Final of the League Cup.

Silva's first task will be to assess his squad, having just two sessions completed before picking his first Hull City side to take on the Swans this Saturday. Abel Hernandez could feature after a lengthy injury lay-off, while it is likely a relatively strong side will be expected to take to the field, particularly as there is very little strength in depth. Robert Snodgrass remains on City's books, after the club rejected a bid from West Ham. Despite a new manager in place, the planned boycott against the Allams is still going ahead.

Swansea City - themselves boasting a brand new manager in Paul Clement - arrive boosted by the remarkable 1-2 away win at Crystal Palace earlier in the week that dumped the Tigers at the foot of the Premier League table. The Swans have made sweeping changes to their back room staff including the surprise sacking by text of Alan Curtis, after decades of service to the club. The visitors are also likely to field a relatively strong side to face City.
