Can’t argue with that.

Like I said in the beginning, you may as well put a chimp in charge, while these clowns own our club. But, if there was ever a manager who might make it a moderate success here, it was Adkins.

I remember talking about this in Half Way pre-game at some length in the summer. Adkins is what I call a 'buy-in' manager.

If you go along and get on board with his hard work philosophy, engendering team spirit and fostering togetherness so that we're all in it together, it could work. It did at Southampton. It didn't at Sheffield United and Reading.

Personally, I was happy with his appointment at the time - and I still am. He's not the problem at this club, even when we were bottom. We all know who is.

Now then...

He’s not the fella to take it on either. You wouldn’t give him £20m to spend and a hand written note reading “go get us promotion”, despite the r3cent wonderful results.

The first few games had me wondering if Adkins and manager sat comfortably in the same sentence. Of that period, post match, after another beasting, "we looked good in the warm up". Yes, take positives forward, but the warm up? Oh shit, we are fooked.

And here I am now thinking anybody else wins it, the whole thing is a farce and rigged.

But, far from being given money to push onwards, the window will close with a much depleted squad. And the club finally sold for what they paid for it. A quid.

Apart from the first sentence, I pretty much agree with that.

I do concede the warm-up nonsense spouted at Sunderland was an error of judgement.

Mistakes, eh? We all make 'em.

24 points from 11 games type form would get 100 points from 46 games.
