I've a friend from further ooop nooerth and her 15 year-old has been having trials with City this year. She tells me he scored the winner in a game in Crewe on Saturday (he's not a striker though). Clearly this wasn't the U18 team that lost 2-3 there that day, so does anyone know what game it might have been? Is it common to have inter-club triallist matches like this for youngsters?

I gather there's a possibility of an apprenticeship, but not until he's 16.

Millions of young teams , pick em and drop em like droppings ...

Hull has its own sudden elegancies. People are slow to leave it, quick to return. And there are others who come, as they think, for a year or two, and stay a lifetime, sensing that they have found a city that is in the world yet sufficiently on the edge of it to have a different resonance

Dont non-white kids play football anymore?

I’d have typed “Black, negro, African, Asian, Scottish” but apparently you can’t use those categories anymore, so I won’t.
