A true legend of cricket and run machine.

It would have been nice to see him surpass Tendulkar as the all time top run scorer in test cricket and this could have been done with another 3-4 years of playing IMO.

It’s a shame he didn’t rediscover his best form following him relinquishing the captaincy. And it seems he’s not received the credit he deserves from the wider sporting family.

Great player. Root might pass his run total, and send it into oblivion (another 3-7 years could have set Cook ahead of everyone else and uncatchable). Root's struggling at the moment though.

I’d have liked to see him drop to 3. It’s the only thing that has not been tried. And a new opening partnership allowed to develop. I was hoping Hameed would fill his boots, but his career has fallen off a cliff.
