The last game between these two fallen giants saw Shakira score a brace for Stoke and signify the end of Phelan's career a week after it began.

The last win for the Tigers at Sjoke was in January 2006, I think. Since then it's been a mixture of losses and draws probably, although didn't Jan Vennegor of Andy Hessenthaler score a winner at some point? Mark Hughes versus Steve Bruce - former team-mates and now arch rivals, even sharing the same haircut, maybe wife also.

Gary 'Robot Dance' Crouch back in the team for Stoke and Hull will perhaps field a largely unchanged side that beat Rochdale, due to having no other players. Niall Atkins, Hull manager, painter and physio, has announced that 'the Championship is demanding' and something about being careful around wounded animals. Hull Asphalting have shown an interest in employing Groziki but are baulking at his £18k a year demands and so he will most likely be training alone. Toril has a hamstring problem, but all other players available for Stoke.

CI prediction - Stoke 2 Hull 0 (Berahino, Ince, Delap)

As long as they sing Delilah for 80 minutes and don't throw bricks at Hull's coachload of fans, that will be a good enough result for me.

Can't make the game myself, it's actually the 10 year anniversary of the publication of 'From Boothferry to Wembley', so I'll be attending the party for this. The invitation seems to have been lost in the post, but no doubt, it will turn up eventually.

0-3 Tigers

Or, possibly, nil-free if you ask Rowett, who will be sacked after the game.

Incidentally, expect a bid from the Scunts to take Adkins back home, where he will excel in playing right backs on the left wing and asking players to stick together/put a shift in.

Oh, scorers... De Wijs (2), Grosicki.

323 from Hull, only 20 lads.
