I see the direction Gareth is taking us.

I see the game plan too.

In fact, we even can adapt and have a genuine plan B, for the first time (ever?)

It's a youthful side, so rightly, the criticism should be minimal from all and sundry.

It's actually been refreshing watching England in this World Cup without the usual millstone round our necks.

If we get to the Quarters by beating Columbia, we've had some genuine success IMO.

So far, best WC since 2002. Worst in my living memory was 2010 where Spain bored everyone to sleep for the entire tournament up to 116 minutes in the final, in the atmosphere vacuum that was South Africa that winter.

Not sure why Sterling gets flak. He's inconsistent and doesn't chase lost causes, but looks excellent when he gets it right. UK media has a strange obsession with him. All the others - Lingard, Trent D'Arby etc. show why they're in the minority as English players at the most expensively assembled clubs in the country. Only one that doesn't convince me as an international CF is Vardy.

Happy times. Enjoy it.

The only time Vardy would be effective would be against a team like Brazil who play a high line where he could use his pace and play,on the shoulder of Silva, can't see Columbia being too adventurous on Tuesday night Not convinced with Pickford best of a pretty average bunch

This World Cup has so far been excellent.

It's absolutely wide open. Russia knocking out Spain has turned the tournament upside down.

Columbia will work hard against England, there will be little time on the ball, we'll be well pressed. But, like England, Columbia's best suit is in attack. An attack that is (likely) to be without James Rodriguez.

I saw Columbia against Senegal. If Sengal had taken their chances, Columbia would be out. Senegal just needed someone competent enough to stick the ball in the back of the net.

England have such a player. Step forward Harry Kane...

Now then...

I probably don’t see nearly as much as you lads do but I’m not of the same view.

England beat two pub teams, and one of those was a last gasp effort in a generally flat display. Panama wouldn’t get in the Vanarama “B” league.

Sterling gets stick cus he’s a shithead. Not nearly as good as he thinks he is and will have floated out of the game in the next five years. A lazy player.

Jesse Lingard. The answer is in the title. Likes a spectacular but can’t do the simple things. Delphi etc, just baggage. Be well fooked without Kane.

As for the tournament.. happy to not be there. Loads of painted faces and under 9s sat with their mums sending a text. Where’s the lads in butchers coats and docks facing off with each other? A game for pussies and LGBTs, whatever they are.

At least I don’t have to listen to Jermaine Jeanarse and Daniel Murphy spouting bollocks and verbally masturbating over defunct superstars. Apparently Jeanarse reckons he saw Messi in the warm up and spotted he was up for it and on fire. He needs to get a job with our Nige who also has some magic with the pre match warm up. Pity the rules state it’s the official 90 mins that count eh.

Let’s see what happens but don’t be surprised to see us get dumped and resting heavily on the fact the “group is young and work in progress”. Right.

2 weeks in to the tournament and I haven’t seen the advantage of VAR yet. Players drawing squares instead of indicating a card should be shown. 57 camera angles and yet no one apparently has spotted that Mick McManus sneaks on the pitch for most corners. Either use it or put it away, as they say in any decent brothel (allegedly).

Last moan of the day. Fookin krauts cost me a lump, then the Spics.

Bollocks

I think your expectations are too high and your negativity is impeding your enjoyment of what is essentially a competitive, open tournament.

Reality is; this is the most open World Cup for years.

Not only that, it's been one of the best World Cups too.

Very true.

I still think England aren’t nearly good enough. Tomorrow’s game against Colombia will be our toughest if we were to make the final. Personally I don’t think we’ll beat them.

It’s between France and Brazil for me.

The only time we will playing Portugal and Germany in the near future will be in friendlies. Aren't we doing badly?

We’ve beaten the France C team and Panama, then lost a friendly with Belgium. We haven’t won a second round match in a tournament since 2002.

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

I used to like Brazil football, until that cheating Gaylord Neymar became a first team selection. He’s an embarrassment to football and manhood and i hope Fellaini gets a start and elbows the fook out of him from 1 sec to 94 mins.

Good luck HOP and see you in the final.

Ps. I once played at Royal Antwerpen as a 14 year old. Great ground, loved it, then worked on the dock area doing valve repairs. Good lads the Belgies, liked a beer.

You wont recognize R Antwerp FC play ground today. The old stands are replaced by modern stands. Only 1 stand is still the same but should be modernized soon.

Cheers and succes England

It was cavernous HOP. Wooden benches for seats down the side and, if I recall corr3ctly, curved terracing behind the goals. Proper ground. A good memory. I think we played in Oostende and Dendermonde too.
