Jackson Irvine's hair still looking good v France,

VAR looking semi competent.

Nacho's goal for Spain.

De Bruyne's tackle in training on Januzai for Belgium.

Now then...

Doesn't officially begin until the first plastic chair is thrown in a town square.

What is it with English hoolies and white plastic chairs and water cannons?

It’s usually dull red ones, which is fair enough in my book.

Iceland. 13 players between nought and 30yards from their own goal for 89 mins, celebrating like they won the competition.

Sad bastards. Fook off back to frozen voluvents for 50p.

From memory, I threw a lightweight aluminum one at an Arab in 1998.

I’d be very surprised to see Germany or Argentina win the tournament this year.

The best teams so far have been Spain and Portugal, who are yet to play an “inferior” side who are prepared to defend for their lives and nick a goal on the counter attack.

Amused to see that Ramos had told Spain's goalie to dive the wrong way for Ronaldo's penalty.

Is that fresh salmon on the tablecloth behind the tinnies?

Hope they have an Allam Out banner too. If only the Slut was still head coach City would have had a free pass all over the place.

I thought so too when I saw it. Likely a contender for the Darwin Award.

Just a quick bit of stattoism...

Only 3 of the 20 winners so far have failed to win their first game. England, naturally, were first to do it in 1966, starting with a 0-0 draw. Italy did it in 1982, drawing all three of their group games. In 2010, the undeserving* winners Spain lost their first game, 0-1 to Switzerland.

For the 1982 finals, some moron had the stupid idea that after the first set of groups, there would be a second set of (4) groups, each with three teams in, each playing two games. There have been some idiotic formats, partly conjured up thoughtlessly as part of FIFA's bid to get as many teams as possible into the finals.

* There should have been at least 8 red cards in the final.
