I don’t think I’ve read his book but most hooligans books say the same, never took a backward step, mashed everyone they ever came up against, usually when massively outnumbered.

Will be interesting to see if that opinion has changed at all in the absent years.

Word of advice then, when Pennant mentions coming to Hull in 72 keep your cock in your trousers to save embarrassing your lad.

Was you at that match KB ? a couple of years before my time, have heard we did well against them and Man Utd in that early 70's era before everyone dissapeared or went elsewhere in the mid 70's .

We didn't play them in 1972. It was 1973. Cass Pennant will have been about 14 then.

2005 Labour got 355 seats from 35.2 % of the vote on a 62.4% turnout. 2015 Tories got 331 seats from 36.9% of the vote on a 661% turnout. Left wing fannies moan the second one is sooooo unfair and we need electoral reform. But didn't utter a peep, about the first one.

It was four weeks into 73 during the 72/73 season FFS and yes I was there and also the last time we had over 30,000 in Boothferry Park.
Someone said ( haven't seen it myself) but the match and the reception West Ham got that day is mentioned in despathces in one of the WHU hooligan books.

I was there. Probably stood near you. It was my wife's first Cup game. She is only 5' tall and from middle of Bunkers hardly saw a thing but she enjoyed the atmosphere. Can't recall seeing any bother.

A lad I used to talk to on the phone in the London office who was a West Ham fan arranged to meet up with me. Had never met him but told him to come in pub and ask for me. Never showed. On the Monday he rang up and said he was late arriving and went straight to the ground. He had got into South Stand and asked someone on the concourse if he knew me. He called him a cockney cunt and decked him.Laugh He was a big lad as well by all accounts.

Was at that game, still, and always likely to be, my biggest home attendance following City.

Fuck the short term we will build a 1000 year Hull City Reich

Like me, you will have a full house . Last games of over 40,000, 30,000 and 20,000 at BP.
Unfortunately it is extremely unlikely the younger fans will ever see a 30,000 crowd never mind a 40,000 one.

My wife's first away game that. An interesting day out. Though wasn't her opinion on what went on.

I was at the West Ham game with my Dad. Great atmosphere. City definitely took it to West Ham after the game. Bricked them behind Kempton and steamed in on the car park. Ciy skins era.

Was lucky enough to do the .stoke game, so 40, 30, 20 and sometimes, under 4. I know a chap who has a 55k under his belt. Not many will have that one.

I never did the Coventry away games so far as I can remember but I know plenty who went and said they were great days. Train specials, unsegregated terraces of course, beer.

While we are still in the mood, any dancing around handbags last night?
