Just been looking at the Prem table. An awful lot of those teams have ex-City players.

GOT 15 teams, 18 players: Liverpool (Robertson), Burnley (Brady, Walters), Leicester (Maguire, Jakupovic), Everton (Niasse), Huddersfield (Ince), Brighton (Rosenior), Newcastle (Diame), Palace (Delaney), West Ham (Noble), Bournemouth (King), Southampton (Long), Stoke (Tymon, Walters), West Brom (Livermore, Myhill), Swansea (Clucas)

AIN'T GOT 5: Man C, Man U, Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal, Watford

Pity 4 of the top 5 are in the AIN'T GOT list.

I might have missed some.

YES 15 teams, 23 players): Derby (Davies, Huddlestone), Cardiff (Peltier), Aston Villa (Chester, Elmohamady, Snodgrass), Leeds (Cooper), Sheff U (Donaldson), Middlesbrough (Ayala), Preston (Welsh), Fulham (Cairney), Ipswich (Waghorn), Nottingham F (Hobbs), Sheff W (Boyd), Reading (Mannone, McShane, Quinn, Aluko), Bolton (Wilbraham), Burton (Bywater, Akpan, Fryatt), Birmingham (Stockdale),

NO 8: Wolves, Bristol City, Brentford, Norwich, Millwall, QPR, Barnsley, Sunderland.

Older viewers might be pleased to hear that Harvey Smith is currently playing for Bristol City.

So that's 30 teams (out of 43) that have 41 ex-City players.

Might get round to looking at the lower divisions presently.

the biggest thing about brucey was after tom cairney got crippled away early season at Donny he'd bought meyler and then Quinn
and played them in tc's absence
when cairney got back to fitness, as managers do he played his signings over the better player at his disposal purely to justify his signings.

sonny boy over harry or indeed anyone as well?

despite most posters on here saying tc couldn't tackle had no pace passes backwards or sideways and always looked knackered
(all first glance) basically he wasn't gary brabin or ian Ashbee enough.

he still looks knackered and no pace and passes sideways or backwards but a couple of times a game he does the biz
summat meyler or Quinn or even hudds cannot do.
we kept the wrong tom
easy to say with hindsight?
I remember me and you phants saying cairney was gonna be our first 10 mill player
brucey misused him and sold him for a third of that and then he was sold by Blackburn on to balance the books but last summer Newcastle openly offered 10mill and then fulhams manager said Newcastle had offered 20 mill but he was going nowhere cos when we (Fulham) get in trouble we give him the ball.

its funny reading cardiffs forum a week ago (I read a lot of oppos forums prob more than ours)

cairney is shit

can we share the 10 mill phants?

I hear you Al.

Most saw the potential, he just needed bringing on a bit. Blackburn sold him too though and £20m today is on the back of silly tv money. He wasn't a full fat Prem player when we went up no.II in my view but we could use him now for sure.

I like players with skill and can pass to feet. Not many of those in football these days.

Blackburn had to sell cos of finances

just a shame there is no one currently in our side who gets my juices flowing cos since the two toms have gone together with virtually all last seasons team its turned to grey for me

theres a lot of luck and coaching involved with a players rise or fall

aluko last season Fulham fans thought he was ace despite his poor scoring rate
now at reading the fans there think he is shite, marking him 1/10 recently

Just realised Arsenal still have the goal machine that is Chubby Akpom, so that adds Arsenal to the list. Chelsea will be in the list before June.

Then Isaac Hayden also needs adding ToPS.

Crikey, we could use Chubby right now, even though he could miss em from half a yard sometimes.

Hayden, quite right, thank you. I had intended to write a program that would interrogate Soccerbase and do all the work for me. One day...
