Sorry Driff but I'm a firm believer in ' you make your own luck' .

It's a season of 46 games ffs, luck has nowt to do with it.

Me too ..... over the long run.
Adkins has been here, what, 5 minutes.
I would say that luck hasn't exactly been on his side so far.

Wouldn’t say it’s been against him, it that’s based on the highlights.

On top of the ridiculous number of injuries Slutz had to contend with, he then loses Mazuch (just as he's establishing himself), Bowen (our top scorer), Campbell (our best striker until Hernandez is back), now Toral and possibly Grosicki. Have I missed any more?
Matching if not even getting the better of Leeds, then a once every couple of seasons howler comes out of the blue.
Outplaying Derby, but Dicko's shot goes 1 inch too much to the side, and we miss a couple of sitters that on any other day would have gone in.
Had we had anything like the rub of the green these last 3 games we'd have likely had 7 to 9 points.
Yes, I'd say it's been against him.

Not sure how luck is prevailing though.

Injuries, particularly with today’s poofters, is a constant part of the game.

If you are an inch out you missed. Luck is where it’s a (un)fortunate incident, e.g. the Bourneville keeper v wham.

Moses is unlucky.

well the commentators on Viking 2 seem to think under adkins we are a different team, instead of the 2 or 3 changes slutsky made every game adkins instead tries to field an unchanged side

if we could finish we would have had 9 points and the confidence winning gives you would have boosted us even further

adkins certainly does his homework, put fullham inder pressure from the off try to stifle them before they get going and the job is then twice as easy
I'm turning the radio off last 10 mins btw

Adkins results are no different from Slutsky's, irrespective of the performance. Adkins has to contend with one less injury than Slutsky did at the end, who had to wheel out the hapless Diamonde. Whatever manager is in place is being asked to race in a broken down car. The squad is thinner than a rizla at a rolling paper convention.

What is more interesting is those fans who regularly stated that they'd support the Allans, whilst the team was performing at the top level, seem to have gone rather quiet during this second consecutive relegation battle. Gary, Kingston old beans?

If that Bolton grounsman hadn’t painted the posts it could have been 1-1, if he’d moved the post too mind.

When you look at our injury list and who Adkins is having to use even though not fit, I'd say yes.
And exactly as predicted, it got a whole lot worse before it hopefully starts getting better in coming weeks.

We've certainly looked better under Adkins, but he's really not helping himself.

Henriksen in central midfield? He's a right wuss and it took far too long to change it at Bolton, even when he did, he pulled off Dicko instead of pulling off Henriksen and moving Irvine into the middle (where he should have started).

Evandro looked handy.

The injury list is not a restricted, for your eyes only document. How long was Adkins sniffing round, and like us, reading of another addition to this list?

Worse becoming better? This could be the golden period of the season. 4th bottom on goal difference.

It could be, but I don't think it will be .... IF we can get a few back and keep them fit (such as Campbell, Hernandez, Mazuch, Kingsley, Evandro, Meyler, Growskicki, ....).
I doubt even Enob is stupid enough not to strengthen during January. Err, no, sorry, take that back.

Hernandeth isn’t playing for City again.

Odd to say that a 20 goal man is a disappointment, but I found him a disappointment. 2 good headers v Wham and the Arse, good goal v the Village People on Boxing Day, injured. That’s how I remember him. I could add in missed penalties and a wig but that would be petulant on a mature messageboard like CI.

I expect to see Hernandez playing for us again, probably late Feb, his recovery is on track by all accounts and he'll be playing for a nice signing on fee in Italy in the summer.
