Meyler time.

Midfield a bit pissy. Pleased with Bowens work though.

Being a City fan can test ones patience. Worth staying up for 5 Grosicky goals?

I like Aina.

Laughing at those on the FB Fans Forum saying we'd win the league after thrashing Burton, are now saying we'll be relegated.....

Keep it, don't hoof it...

A lot of blame rests with Allam for sure. Shambolic pre-season again, done on the cheap, etc (good summary in Nash's match report).
After 34 (?) ins and outs this summer, plus a whole new back room, of course it's going to take time.
But bloody hell, Slutsky has to learn fast. He got it so wrong, before and during the game. Baffling and worrying. It's not like he doesn't now have options.

Aina. Clearly a player from a good Prem club. Natural skill, pace, vision. Just needs to knock off a couple of rough spots but more than likely will be a player.

Elmo. A bit of a buffoon now. Hasn't hit the line in at least 3 seasons. Cheats.

First time I've seen City this season. A bit naive but generally showed more skill than I thought they would have, Diomande apart (who took only 2 mins in the pitch before rubbing the back of his head).

Add in a fit Campbell, Mason, new lad from Liverpuddle, Mosses, replace Larrrrssson with Meyler and it's not a bad team. Good enough for promotion? Maybe, but that's my argument with he Allams - only 2,3,4 good signings away from making it a slam dunk, so why not do it?

Anyone know how much Larrrrssson is on? I think we paid too much for him on yesterday's performance

I thought the Aina comment in your original post was sarcasm / a woosh attempt. Apparently not. I'm gob smacked. He was shite. Others have said it before, but I thought they were being harsh. I now see what they meant.

Promotion, maybe? WTF are you on?

However, I do agree with the point about 3 or 4 (very) good signings and it could have been a slam dunk (assuming some return from injury and we have decent luck going forward). Like you, Allam is totally deluded if he thinks we have any chance as things stand; his failure to use the money generated from sales will cost him VERY dear longer term, meaning he misses out on a PL return and the chance to sell us as a PL club.

Having said that, last night was more about errors by Slutsky, before and during the game, and that's worrying.

Promotion has a question mark against it, which does confirm your eyesight is a bit suspect Driff.

Aina is a football player, I.e he can control a ball. Many can't which makes a mockery of £x million signing fee and £y tens of thousands per week. Life eh.

Not sure The Slut made any mistakes last night. Aina foul (needless), Hendrickson not doing his job, Larrsssonnn not doing his job etc.

Larrrrssssoon missing a pen didn't help. And so it goes. Derby weren't too good, City created enough chances. Diomande with a kit on doesn't help.

I'm not too fussed about it all now. From what I've seen this is a poor division. Boro apparently spent £50m but I don't know where. Cardiff top, Ipswich witches up there. What's that all about then.

I genuinely don't understand how anyone can watch tens of thousands of hours of football over a lifetime and come to that conclusion.

At 2-0 down well before half time, is time to bolster the defence and shore up the midfield to see out the rest of the game. To lose 5-0 to a team in the same division, with comparable quality of players, is entirely on the manager's head.

In other countries, this result is seen as an absolute embarrassment and a sign of complete incompetency. Here, it mostly gets a shrug of the shoulders and blame heaped on an individual player, plus a 'we can still get promoted' virtue signal comment.

The game and result should be totally unacceptable at this level.

loads of new faces and its gonna take time to gel
we as football fans know that should occur in training
but in reality they are all far too busy discussing their latest car/watch purchases in pidgin English

I did like meyler obviously telling hudds at the end its the biggest fook up he's ever been involved in
he will be gone in jan
to a club that makes him feel wanted
and I don't mean by the fans

At 2-0 down you can't win a game of football?

Nah.

Derby are not a good side. It did need Larrrrssson either having a sharp tool inserting into his anus or, maybe preferable, maybe not, he would be substituted.

It's not a European Cup first leg away in Tiblisi. Appoint King Kev as assistant for me.

Boo to Gull. Thought you had some gonads. Shame

hang on, weren't we supposed to be well happy with the cut price replacements? I mean they'd just battered burton and Bolton (for the first time in decades?)
surely that meant we should fear no one and be a play off cert?

one result doesn't mean your season is over just like one result doesn't mean we have to shove our tongues up ehabs arsehole

and anyway, sounds like some other bloke's been doing that....
