There's been a story on Look North about his magazine publishing a racist story about the Allams and someone reporting it to the police.

Well, Tenfoot is someone I have had many a run in with in the past. But I have met him a few times and one thing he is not in a racist. Which, after meeting me he concurred I wasn't either. Funny how things are different when you meet someone who you have clashed with on here and chat face to face.

2005 Labour got 355 seats from 35.2 % of the vote on a 62.4% turnout. 2015 Tories got 331 seats from 36.9% of the vote on a 661% turnout. Left wing fannies moan the second one is sooooo unfair and we need electoral reform. But didn't utter a peep, about the first one.

Camel shaggers, Arf!

Good job you can't get nicked (see what I did there) for being a fuckwit or he'd have been hauled off to Hedon Road "arse shaggers" years ago.

Read the last paragraph, he's just a cock. Racist cock? Dunno, don't care either.

I think the piece contains, at worst, a couple of bad taste jokes however, the old guy who has made the complaint has just been on Look North and he perceives them as ''racist'' and will have his pound of 10's flesh if he can ...... there's a kind of sick irony in seeing the man who accused so many on this site of racism being labelled the same. Good luck with it Tony!

It is the history that is special, not the words.

The author may not be racist, but the language he is using is.

Sand licker, camel shaggers etc... The Allams deserve huge criticism but using their race as insults is exactly what many are looking for to tarnish the protests and anti-Allam agenda.

A huge own goal and editorial error. He needs to take a long, hard look at himself and what he is using his writing for. I am deeply disappointed in him.

is it racist not to like them? If it is I should have been locked up about 4 years ago. And I still fucking hate them, even more.

Far too much bandying around of the vile and divisive R-word, often over minor crap that trivialises the real struggles people have/had.

It's sod all to do with race anyway. Those that use such terms are equally likely to use terms exactly equivalent to and as rude as those when referring to people from the next county or the next town or the next football club. Race doesn't come into it.

Insulting them because of their ancestry is clearly going to upset or affect the thinking of those who believe it is racist - whether you think it or not. It also looks bad nationally as it confirms what Allan has said.

There's no point getting in a debate over whether you either do or don't believe calling someone a sandlicker is racist, because a large number of the UK population do and this just hands ammunition to the Allans.

This is the exact reason why there is a supporters trust that puts out carefully worded statements that make sure not to offend the millions of neutrals out there.

The article is disgraceful - it's childish, not funny, insulting and makes Swifty look a fool - which I don't believe he is. If I was a local business, I wouldn't want to be associated with or advertise in a magazine with articles written using language like that. What's said whilst drunk or amongst friends as a joke shouldn't be published in a magazine that refers to itself as the independent voice of Hull.

For the simple reason that it risks alienating advertisers, calling an Arab a Camel Shagger was a fairly daft thing to do.

City have just announced that they've reported it to the Police, as they consider it a race hate crime against the club's owner.

I do know Tenfoot has not been well for a while. Maybe this is because he is not so hands on and it sneaked through. Having met him I can't imagine him writing something racist himself. Maybe I am wrong.Though is what is written anymore a hate crime than informing fans of your football club they can die when they want?

It's not Hull City's place to report it to the police. Maybe the club's owners or any other individual who maybe offended. But not a football club.
Not in my name, Hull Tigers.

It was my intention to just post the link and leave well alone. But plod involved? Game over Tenfoot I'm afraid.

The article appears to be written by him hence the lack of editorial control.

But why? Everything to lose with that language, set against the absolute zero square root of fuck all to gain.

Why?

His explanation, for anyone who can be arsed...

We were asked to appear on BBC Look North tonight to answer a couple of "complaints." We declined the offer, but instead we issued this statement to them….
In reference to the accusations of "racist language in Tenfootcity" made by a couple of 'over-sensitive' people, this is our response to their unbalanced 'opinion' - which is due to them not considering the rest of the content of the magazine, as they rightfully should have done, if they wanted to form a 'balanced' opinion.
Those comments are NOT Racist – just distastefully “funny” – stop being so sensitive and smile a little bit in life. We actually did it on purpose to see what sort of reaction we’d get, to that specific use of language.
As the Editor (but NOT the writer of the article) … I’m an international Socialist myself and I’m anti-racist, anti-sexist, non-homophobic, etc, etc, etc,….. but there’s a big problem in our society at the moment and we wanted to address it. Hateful Racism is disgusting and should always be challenged but we seem to have got to a point where people feel like they’re not allowed to say anything due to the fear of being accused of “something.” The P.C. brigade have gone mad. It’s too controlling, it’s self-righteous and it’s alienating people. Humour has GOT to be allowed and not eradicated, but I agree it is a fine line – and I know we were (purposely) on a knife-edge there. It’s down to personal opinion what is considered to be “light-hearted” and what is considered to be offensive. I’m working-class, from a council estate in East Hull and I am used to all sorts of language that the sensitive P.C. brigade would actually faint at. They’re not living in the real world. Even my Mam and Dad would say things like “that friend of yours, the coloured girl, she’s lovely, when are you bringing her round again?” or (from my Dad) “that mate of yours is a shirt-lifter isn't he? Well he’s a really good lad anyway, I like him.” (The particular mate he was referring to is actually Gay and he just laughed when I told him!) This is normal stuff, it’s not offensive, or hateful, and it doesn’t hurt anyone – we’ve all got to stop being so bloody sensitive (on behalf of other people usually) – because it’s actually dividing society and it’s not doing us lot, on the left, any favours. (They all just start to regard us as P.C. Fannies –oh sorry…. I bet someone would accuse me of “misogyny” with that reference.) See what I mean? It’s all gone mad and we’ve just got to stop it. I think the people who jump on one or two light-hearted references, should read the rest of the magazine properly and concentrate on the more important articles like 'Hull Help for Refugees' and the history of 'Hull's Rock Against Racism' movement, (which I was part of actually) and also every other reference in our magazine to unity and non-discrimination. I would be the first to jump up and fight at the first sign of any language of genuine hate… but “Camel-Shaggers” is (only just) acceptable when used in a light-hearted manner. (Like "Sheep-Shaggers" or "Cod-Heads… which is often levelled at us but doesn't bother me in the slightest.) Let’s all start being sensible about this eh? – Otherwise people are just gonna start getting sick of us “liberal lefties” who don’t live in the real world and we’ll actually end up having the opposite effect to the one we desire. BE NORMAL!
I actually think the BBC should be addressing the serious issues rather than pathetic 'non-stories' like this, like the fact that they perpetuate the myth that Jeremy Corbyn is a "weak" leader, with the biased language they continually use - when, in actual fact, he is the strongest Leader I have experienced in decades.
Love, Peace & Solidarity from Tenfootcity Magazine.
(P.S. There's nowt wrong with shagging camels anyway - as long as you get a good-looking one.)
