The road to Cardiff....

Until recently they have been on 2 roads to Cardiff. Champions league and championship. They still remain on 2 roads to Cardiff but the road to Cardiff via the champions league now looks more likely....

Studying the history of football tactics it is quite normal for a club side to win a domestic league then go on to bigger scale success in Europe. Sometimes the architect of that breakthrough in tactics gets the shot at a national gig and the nation then goes on to success.

Think Ajax, Holland and then Barcelona as those ideas migrated across Europe. With Cruyff et al.

As the European elite get done by Leicesters - fast break football maybe they will become the Barcelona of this generation.

It would have been quite some story seeing Leicester win the champions league in Cardiff and then getting relegated and playing Cardiff away first game then Fleet wood at home.
