No Imp.
Only ever cried at football once, you can guess when.
Came close during he walkout in the dark days when things were that bad and there was no light at the end of the tunnel.
To be honest, I find comments like that pretty insulting, given my time and resilience supporting City through thick and thicker since '69 (so fuck off).
Just 'putting it out there' (!) what I'm thinking. If we're to be honest about it, we've been disappointingly poor since Portugal; we got the rub of the green v Swansea thankfully. Our tactics & selections have been as baffiling as they were under Bruce & Phelan (including v Swansea). Yet some still think it will all miraculously change in the remaining games and we'll get the needed 5 or more wins.
We won't. Just as I said Leicester and Palace wouldn't go down.

All this discussion about the coaching situation is interesting.

The salient points of all this for me are:

ehaw manufactured a way to get Bruce out. Had it been commercial industry, Bruce would have won hands down at a tribunal for constructive dismissal. The club was then left in a sticky situation with no coach/manager to make any signings. What signings were available after everyone else had had first second and third pickings didn't want to come anyway. Pre season was an absolute farce.

Phelan was placed in temporary charge until ehaw signed a coach/manager. Word had got round the football circles the way that ehaw had ousted Bruce and no one wanted to come to the club. Allams name and that of the club were of pariah status.

Ehaw had fucked up 3 good chances of a sale by bringing in extra demands when agreements had been made. Once again his name had hit pariah status and no one else was interested.

Meanwhile, a bit of success in the opening games and the very fact that everyone else shyed away from the club meant ehaw was forced to appoint Phelan.

Money was made available for Phelans first transfer window, albeit not much and this came so bloody late that Phelan had no one else to look to sign because all the decent larkers had already been snapped up. We finished with players that no one else wanted. ie panic signings who came to make up a woefully weak squad in numbers and quality.

6-1 hammering at Bournemouth and a run of heavy defeats and Phelan gets the chop. Loads of names banded around but no one wants to come, cant think why!

Then an unknown coach and his team arrive at City. The transfer window is already on us at this time and ehaw manages to persuade Silva that he should go for a shit or bust exercise in signing mainly loanees. Its a desperate situation and one hell of a gamble. We are told on his arrival that in his first interview, no players were for sale. Firstly, Livermore goes the next day and in the meantime Snodgrass gets an improved offer BY POST on his contract that I assume he chucks in the bin because the next day he has gone. In the meantime, leaving shocked supporters even more shocked, a Robertson deal is announced and approved. However, I would assume having been pissed on by allam from a bloody great height with two departures already, it is common knowledge that Silva gets involved and decides enough is enough. He doesn't want to lose Robertson, this at a time when he is seriously trying to get the French player in before the deadline. There have been suggestions that Silva told allam that he was seriously unhappy and that the answer was that if he wanted the French player he would have to sell Robbo to finance the deal. To add to the mayhem, Silva was seen leaving the training ground just as allam turned up. It was suggested that Silva was on the verge of bailing out because it hadn't taken that long for him to fathom out what ehaw was all about. The net result was that Robbo stayed and we missed out on the Frenchman.

Wer now look to the end of the season. Given that there are probably two scenarios.

Firstly, we stay up and Silva stays because he is on an 18 month contract. Will ehaw give him the finance to build a new team. Will he sign any of the loanees that he wants. Will some of the present squad want to stay struggling City?

Most worryingly, City go down. All the loanees are sent back or want to go back to parent clubs. Silva invokes his right to be released from his 18 month contract on relegation. Out of contract players refuse new deals and leave as free agents. Offers come in for players that are too good to turn down. This leaves the club deep in shit. Add to this that ehaw has got a taste back for running the club and doesn't want to sell it, or he cant sell it because no one wants either the club or any dealings with the idiot. We then get back to the fact that the club is a pariah status and we cant get anyone from the UK to come in and take the managers job. Ehaw is hardly in any position to market the club with his record and the club is in total and utter disarray. If we thought last pre season was dreadful we havnt see anything yet.

I personally see a real decline in the clubs fortunes if we go down, which unfortunately I think is on the cards. No one wants to deal with the present owners and ehaw will not put up a transfer kitty to tempt any one who is foolish enough to be tempted. We were warned by the alarm bells all those years ago when old man allam said that the family knew nothing about football and the truth has come home hard. Its all so sad and could have been avoided but for their dogmatic attitude.

Points of order -

1) Bruce left of his own accord after he was told he wasn't getting any money for signings or to prepare the squad for the PL, because the Allans were selling the club and couldn't guarantee his continued employment.

2) The 'panic' signings were players identified by Bruce and his team well before the summer.

3) No decent manager wanted to come to the club due to the reasons in 1)

4) The club is not a 'pariah' club. They just will have to target and sign realistic players and managers. Hull are no worse run fiscally than 75% of professional clubs.

5) Potential buyers and players agents are happy to deal with Ehab, just as long as the price is right. No one wants to buy the club for 130 million, but at 70 million, plenty will/would have. There's no need to over-egg the pudding. He's ruined the fanbase, but regarding on the pitch success and in the eyes of the footballing community, the Allans have done well with a club most thought was dead and buried.

This isn't a defence of Allan and I acknowledge the damage done to the club, but to protest him as some North Korean dictator isn't true. Hull have a lower mid-table level wage bill and this will always attract players.

Lunchie, instead of twatish comments, why not say something constructive about the thoughts shared?
If that's all the likes of Imp and Lunchbox can come up with then let's finally kill off this message board once and for all.

I stand by my comments. Phelan was his own man and he made his choices. Either that, or ehaw did the signings

Bruce was pushed. He met ehaw after he came back from his hols where he had considered his position at the club. He was promised a budget to sign players in the close season. All seemed to be well until the England position became available. He applied and didn't get the job. On returning to work he arranged to meet ehaw in order to start recruiting. ehaw then told him there was no budget. Bruce then walked out. Basically he had had a gun put to his head.
