In favour of Remaining, Richard Branson, the CBI, big business and middle class revolutionaries from Northampton. Against the EU, the late Tony Benn, Peter Shore and Dennis Skinner. Ironic to see the Northants octogenarian siding with those who think the likes of Dennis Skinner should be deselected because he voted the way his constituents voted, unlike so many in both the Conservative and Labour parties. No doubt the 3 Labour MPs in Hull who ignored the wishes of their constituents will be re-elected on the wonderful logic that their dad, grandad and great grandad voted Labour so they are no matter how useless or hypocritical the candidates are.

It's no less ironic than you siding with those mentioned left-wingers, Tim old bean, plus siding with the preferences of Vladimir Putin whom you have had rather a lot to post about on here over the years. What would be fantastic would be if you had the self-awareness and humour to write about this and the nuances and contributory reasons that led you to your decision - perhaps they would be similar to those of the Hull residents, whom you mock, who will vote Labour no matter what. However, I feel those days on this forum have long passed.

We'll see how statesmanlike Corbyn is now Obi but I can't see him acting in the National interest, Labour MP's will get greedy and push Corbs who will push May too hard/too soft which might leave us with a no deal with Macron closing the door on us?

Civil wars have been rumbling in the Tory & Labour parties for quite a while, more Labour MP's have split from the core party than Tories so far.

More likely that May will agree to a customs union and the maintenance of workers' rights - Corbyn's main demands and then some sort of restriction on Freedom of Movement (visas etc.) to appease the racists/xenophobes. It will get whipped through parliament and the UK will leave the EU on a deal worse than remaining or leaving, then hopefully and probably the Tory party will rupture for good.

It's a stupid argument. Every thing comes to an end eventually, but that doesn't mean that it's not necessarily the best option at this present time. As it stands, it looks like the untied kingdom will be over before the EU.

It wasn't an argument. It's a prediction. As for the UK, Scotland has always wanted to snog France, so if they want that, I give up caring.

If the ERG had signed up to May's deal, you'd be out now.
