Do you mean Deutsche?

No. Deutsche isn't in danger of bringing down the system due to over-leveraged holdings, its simply far too heavy in non-performing to low-performing bonds and investments - it's just not making money.

The Italian banking system is far more likely to cause problems for the Euro in the future.

No problem. The ECB has caused problems for DB, rather than the other way round. The bank has to pay a billion euro a year due to negative interest rates on the EU bonds it is forced to hold, so no other bank wants to buy it, as would normally be the case. On top of this, other areas of the bank haven't made profit since the crash, so it can't make a profit.

Italian banks have far higher levels of debt and riskier investments, as they typically have had for the last 800 years. The country may get sanctioned by the EU for not enforcing debt/cash holding ratios...
