I see you are still reading the Sun and Mirror Version of that story.

I don’t care about equality of outcomes as to enforce that has led to untold suffering, deaths and abuses whenever it has been tried. I do care about equality of opportunity and treating people fairly for their talents and hard work to thrive.

Obsessing about inequality of outcomes in the UK is diversionary and takes too many people away from some solving REAL problems.

Meanwhile absolute poverty has declined, the middle class has expanded and the wealthy have also increased in number and more ‘earned’ vs inherited wealth than ever before...

Racist and xenophobic abuse towards foreigners in the UK has increased since the Brexit vote, due to the nature of the Leave campaign and the following result giving many a license to be rude, show a lack of civility, revert to abuse and be racist.

A fact.

I do love your easy dismissal of people. I have read many versions of the story and a clarification by the man himself. He uses "in the public interest" a lot. Large parts of the story were garbage. There is no reason why the social worker should know the correct details. It wasn't her case.

Anyway, I'm sure you read his initial report and edited it before it was published.

In no country in the work has equality of outcome ever been tried. If you thnk.that that is what happened in the SU you are very ill read on the subject.

Equality of opportunity is a noble idea and you and Sir Alan have proved miracles can happen. For the common mass, however, this is largely bollocks. To stop there being a vast sump at the bottom, positive and negative taxation must be used and meant. Cutting benefits, paying shit wages and giving tax breaks to.the well off is what the current government is doing. 3/4 of those using food banks are in work. No effort is being made to bring about a fairer society

No I read the report the article, the clarification and have seen the interviews the ‘racist’ ‘liar’ has given.

Large parts of the re-published story printed in the Sun were garbage but then I wouldn’t expect any different from them.

Meanwhile this pedantry is a great way of avoiding the actual issue...

Aha! One of them was about a Serb(?) girl, mistress of a General. And Switzerland was involved? Does that ring a bell?

No, books don't ring bells.

Sounds like you've read one of the last books of the series - of which the quality weakens as the series progresses and the author expects the reader to understand the character/background. Not sure they work as standalone books.

OK. I certainly just picked on one, but I've no idea how or why. I was not enthralled enough to start the series.

Anyway, if white people wore burkas, they'd look like pillar boxes. But Muslims who wear them clearly don't.

Do you really think Johnson gives a fig what a small section of women in a religious sect wear? Do you really think he comes into much/any contact with them and has any genuine opinion on their personal clothing choices?

Once again, he's playing up to a 'crowd', in this case the usual suspects, and saying the 'right' things to garner popularity, to keep himself in the public eye and to further his ambitions of political office. He is a complete snake and the media indulges his ridiculous act. The man has been in the public eye for 20 years, supported the UK being a member of the EU for 18 of them and in the 8 or so years he was mayor of London, did not make one negative comment regarding burqas. Now, attempting to surf a wave of populist opinion, he decides that the burqa is something to be mocked/banned. How is anyone still fooled by him.

Just another slimy politico and as inept as the rest...

Still...

If I go into a petrol station in my helmet I have to remove it.

I have read the rationale for niqab and burka and the associated logic of the ‘scholars’ that support it and can be perfectly blunt.

It has no purpose nor compatibility in a secular society except in the privacy of a persons home or place of worship which actually defeats the object.

The leaflet I got from Didsbury Mosque suggests that they prevent rapes so perhaps if all the females from 6 and up in Rochdale/Telford/ et al had worn them we wouldn’t have had those crimes...
