Such a good job Russia doesn't get involved in the region, isn't it?

2005 Labour got 355 seats from 35.2 % of the vote on a 62.4% turnout. 2015 Tories got 331 seats from 36.9% of the vote on a 661% turnout. Left wing fannies moan the second one is sooooo unfair and we need electoral reform. But didn't utter a peep, about the first one.

As I was reminded recently, Russia isn't the USSR.

No it isn't. They have gone from having left wing dictators to a right wing one. But they still like getting involved in things.

I remember John Motson insisting on calling the USSR team the Russians all through a game. At the time they basically used to pick the champions, which that year were Dynamo Tblisi. There were a couple of Dynam Kiev players as well. Not one from Russia in that particular game.

Trump's recent announcement about the Iran thing came at a bad time, just as he was beginning to pick up some brownie points for giving various shoves that have led, for now, to North Korea's situation changing for the better. Unfortunately the Iran thing shows that Trump is, as were the Clintons, up to his hairballs in hock to the secret world government.

Hmmm... Was Obama not in hock to this secret government when he created the deal?

The answers are far easier than the conspiracy theories.

Do you mean you think the US should be given a free hand to do what it likes with no biggish power standing up to them?

Thanks for the Mottie story again. One can't beat the oldies, can one? Without a bit of effort anyway.

I don't know about Obama. The deal looked okay to me. It had a limit on the level of uranium re-thingying that was allowed, and it was something like 3.67%, which is way below the level for weapons grade. The nuclear bods were allowed in several times a year to verify that Iran was complying. I can only think of one reason that the USA would withdraw from the deal, and that's for the promotion of the big fight.

For those that have watched or not watched and believed or not believed the stuff in the videos from Blackstone Intelligence Network, he posted earlier in the week that the Iraqis have been getting annoyed for months that they've been telling the US forces where some ISIS leaders have been holed up and the US forces have been doing nothing at all about it. Consequently, the Iraqis decided to get them themselves, which they did. They captured five Iraqi leaders, and this has since been in the news, with Trump announcing their capture, but failing to mention that the Iraqis had captured them, rather than the Americans.

Due to family and work circumstances, I haven't had so much free time to watch and investigate all this. I hope to watch the videos and read more about it soon. I've also got over 30 unread books that I've bought and not had time to read yet, so need to do this. Having said that, it's mostly bad time allocation as read this site several times a day.

The real difference between Benjamin Netanyahu and Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel is that Bugsy was very good looking.

Another one, Qatar, new super rich moderate Arab state, Doha the new Dubai, broadcasts Al Jazeera, buys arms from us, down for holding the next World Cup, all good & stable? Neighbours Saudi are blocading them!!!

I used to live in Qatar. Toilet of a country. Wealthiest country per capita but the pavements are all busted up with building shite left on every possible street corner. Ah, nice new shiny business district follows on after the corniche, but largely unoccupied, a bit like the extensive and impressive new airport.

To work in Qatar you are “owned” by a local company - you cannot leave without permission. Same Arab laws as usual, it will always be the fault of the foreigner so be prepared to stick dollar bills up your arse for a 60 day sentence for being in the vacinity of an accident.

America has no influence in Qatar at all, like most ME countries. When asked why they don’t appreciate the West more since it saved their asses from Saddam they say that Saddam would have saved them from the Jews, so an invasion by Iraq would have been ok by them.

It’s madness there, as is Yemen, Bahrain etc. Only Oman seemed sensible, but that is a country the size of Poole. Home of thousands of immigrant workers getting paid US$1 a month. That’s not a typo. Some kill themselves as they paid a few thousand to get there and have no money to send home.

I despise the ME.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see it return to what it was 50 years ago.
