Unfortunately it isn’t just gossip and it has led to changes in national level laws in Canada for example. These early stories are the canary in the mine and our journos know it is heading over here. I have already been to a business event where applause was discouraged in favour of finger clicking or ‘jazz hands’ for those who find applause overbearing. I have been asked to use a preferred pro-noun of ‘they’ for a transgender person and someone tried to convince me that gender is a choice like fashion. This latter claim has been enshrined in law in Canada so it’s coming for sure.

Hopefully not for 40 years or so, then I'll be well out of here before it does.

Fuck the short term we will build a 1000 year Hull City Reich

It's modern day gossip that has become daily news. Media outlets hype it up to stay relevant. Without any racism, prejudice, rants against tories, insults etc. there isn't much to discuss and this doesn't pay well in advertising revenue or data collection revenue if viewers visit news and social media sites only once a day.

Again, it suits Labour that racism, poverty and prejudice 'exists' to be reported, as otherwise they lose their voter base.

In the last 30 years, several hundred thousand Britons of Asian heritage have received education and entered the UK workforce in highly paid career jobs as doctors, dentists, engineers, solicitors, barristers etc and many of these will be earning at least 3 times the national average wage. The vast majority of them have come from parents who hardly had a pot to urinate in when they came to the UK, wealth-wise and education-wise. That's hardly indicative of a racist society where social mobility is locked and prejudice keeps the population in poverty, despite what many MPs and commentators on twitter want us to believe (and more importantly, their voters to believe).

There are several hundred thousand people in this country who are very well off and many of those have become much richer of late. That is hardly indicative of a country groaning under strict austerity measures.

That maybe true, but it's not relevant to my point.

One doesn't generally find racism deeply rooted in educational establishments as the large number of 'liberal's hold away. Your example of a non-racist society is a bit too specific to be a general rule. If that was your point.

The customers and patients that pay for the services aren't necessarily from educational establishments.

As I wrote, it suits the agenda of many for Britain to be portrayed in a certain way. It suits many that a percentage of the population is kept in poverty and given someone to blame, rather than given advice to get out of the poverty trap.

Well it's too fucking late for them, then, because the doctors are already in place and it would take Nazism, rather than racism, to get rid of them. If you are objecting to my usage of 'racist society' I am prepared to withdraw it and say 'a society crammed with racists'.

And I still have no idea what set you off on this tack. And I decided to totally ignore the bit about Labour!

I don't know. Disappointment maybe at Corbyn's latest rally offering a 25% discount off the attendance fee to non-white races. Proof that this same rubbish will continue in the UK, whatever the party leading.

There was a great opportunity to highlight the mess that May is making in charge and to re-set the scales of society. It seems that he, or certainly his team, are happy to carry on playing it to win for their team.

Reading the transcript of what McDonnell said on Marr on Sunday, what Corbyn has said about the single market, the huge amount of anti-semitism emanating from grass roots support and what the likes of their cheerleaders such as Paul Mason are writing, it's fairly clear that Labour are prepared to throw European immigrants under the bus in their quest to pander to false truths, win power and turn the UK into a socialist Republic.

It's a shame they've taken this direction. Just another party doing the same thing of looking after themselves. Blue, red.. Little difference really. I initially expected better.

So, Tory Brexit didn't happen. It was all Corbyn's fault. There's nothing wrong with the UK that a bit more austerity for the poor and a bit more help for the rich won't cure? (The rich might fight hard to dodge tax, but will give generously if they can grope a girl's arse?) Carry on Matron - only with profits involved and a few more trolleys? AND THE RUSSIANS ARE COMING!

You really are a total sucker for media diversion and sound bite culture aren’t you.

Question time was a belter last night as the working class Scottish audience took turns to rip into the political class of all shades.

The final question about whether a footballer deserved >£500k a week said it all...

All arguing for more equality but none of them any clue how to deliver it without immoral acts.

Meanwhile his Tax / NI and that of the people he employs all greatfully received no doubt...
