In theory, a front end worker, such as a bin man, ambulance technician, engineer, teacher etc. should earn more than the office worker inputting their details into a ready made accounting system to pay them, as they're adding more value to society, but this is often not the case.

The vast majority of administration should not earn higher salaries than the value creators, but this is how it is in the UK. Maybe a hangover from imperial times from the British Empire.

Now you are talking my language - and most of the ‘administrivia’ is added over the years by inept management. Why shareholders don’t view value add / non value add staff ratios is always beyond me.
