It appears that Disney is buying Fox from the evil Merdeoch empire.

Anything that reduces the influence of the vile Aussie bastard is good news. Sadly Jemimah Goldthing hasn't managed to exhaust him, which was my initial hope.

Anyway, what effects do readers expect this to have on Fox, if any?

It doesn't include Faux News, so the effect will be - not much?

Pity. I didn't know it didn't include Fox News. Yes, indeed, not much. Shame. Thanks.

I don't see Fox news as being any more fake than the other established news sources, nor than social media news.

That's not to say that it's not fake, it reports from an established editorial line on what suits it's owners and audiences' perceptions. It's just the opposite side of the coin to The Guardian, for example. The bias of the Grenfell fire and the lack of critical reporting from different aspects, being an example of how the Guardian is no different.

Along with the majority of the western world under a certain age who are no longer reliant on one newspaper, one just has to read a selection of reports on the same incident and make a decision.

Agree Gull - you have to read left and right otherwise it's echo chamber time...

Grenfell is a great example especially now the tax payer is paying for more homes than we're lost and suprise surprise many of the residents who were co-habiting apparently no longer need to live together so need their own place.

Worrying reports about the reason the fridge exploded too...

The people who died no longer need a place of their own anymore so you have to add that into your cost/benefit equation.

Let's blame the fridge and the bloke who had it. Any worrying reports why the whole fucking building went up?

6 months on from one of the most commiserated peacetime UK tragedies and no product recall from Hotpoint... one could almost think that the chap set fire to his flat deliberately, after packing his bags, and did a runner, rather than be deported for immigration offences and that this is being covered up.
