Not a lot of coverage, everyone expects more Merkel. She's been in since 2005. Strong chance the AfD can get over the 5% to win seats, good luck to them today.

And then, perhaps, the one after that will see them at 33%, teddie. And we know what happens then!

The AfD should gain seats.

Wont make much difference as the Chancellor holds all the power.

Merkel re-elected as chancellor, bad news for Europe, but the AfD have polled well as the third largest party and will enter the Bundestag, well done AfD.

Merkel only got 33% of the vote. Doesn't that mean she has no mandate according to the lefties when they don't win elections here?

2005 Labour got 355 seats from 35.2 % of the vote on a 62.4% turnout. 2015 Tories got 331 seats from 36.9% of the vote on a 661% turnout. Left wing fannies moan the second one is sooooo unfair and we need electoral reform. But didn't utter a peep, about the first one.

If only communists could get 33% of the vote in a free election, eh candy?

Alexander Gauland is one of the AfD's leaders - and now one of its MPs. Triumphantly, he told the jubilant crowd that his party would hunt down Mrs Merkel.

"Take back the country and the people": for a Germany post-World War Two, it is extraordinary rhetoric.

But not for a Germany pre-World War Two, eh?

A UKIP 'patriot' celebrating the victory of a German far-right party. You really could not make it up. Around half a million dead British soldiers spinning in their graves right now.
