We don't have census figures released every year. Interesting figures. They are rather raw, of course. If the very large numbers of "past it" White English, like me, are removed from the figures, the percentages would look different. Also, no account of the social status of the offenders is taken into account, which would also make a difference.

Having said that, it wasn't a "fuck me, is that how it is" moment.

Candy,

It is well known and documented that many police forces have cut budgets and reduced crime. I don't have to post the latest speeches on this do I?

You link to the MET police which you understand is not THE police.

'Knife Crime' used to be called something else but it is basically a penchant for certain young males to go around stabbing each other in certain parts of the country - it is virtually unheard of in Devon

The Met is the biggest police force. I also linked to Northampton. You could, no doubt, link to Manchester and Hull. I'm taking it you do agree that large cuts in the police force might give criminals an easier passage?

Areas with highest knife crime increases
Nottinghamshire: 2002-338; 2004-650; Rise 92%
Bedfordshire: 2002-79; 2004-113; Rise 43%
Devon & Cornwall: 2002-108; 2004-152; Rise 41%
Lincolnshire : 2002-402; 2004-497; Rise 24%

Devon has a way to go, but is showing an increase.

If you're hinting, round the edges, of it being most prevalent among young black kids you'd be right, but you wouldn't be completely right. And you still haven't shown me places where such crimes are falling.

I know 'knife crime' is increasing, I was talking about those forces where budgets have been cut and crime has gone down.

Large cuts in police waste and thus getting more police time actually fighting and preventing crime gives criminals a harder time so no I don't necessarily agreed with you and your simpleton logic about money. You make the dangerous assumption that every £1 you give the police is £1 well spent.

Knife crime hasn't gone down, other crimes have, around the country. You bluster and denigrate, but don't cough up the facts. I posted facts and you said the Met is bot the whole police force, so post some fair comparison. And NO, the Outer Hebrides does not count cf the Met.
